more specifically concerning last night, judging by Ducharme's reaction after the goal review verdict he seemed rather convinced it shouldn't have been a good goal, unless he was simply pissed off because a bad decision was imposed on him by his GM...

Bergevin is desperate because his job is on the line. He's already fired the coach.

Bergevin is utterly incompetent and unsuited to be a GM in the modern NHL. This should be evident to anyone who has seen how he mis-orchestrated this decade long retooling.

However, the current coach is also a problem. For instance, I have viewed the mystical goaltender interference review from many angles using NHL5G. Only an absolute couchetard would have believed the goal would be called back. A delay of game penalty was the obvious result. Ducharme should have heeded Leblanc's advice.

Any modicum of respect the players had remaining for this buffoon is likely gone. He is lucky the player's covered for him in the post game interviews. It is the coach's job to protect the players, not the other way around.

I suspect Hockey Ops spent so long reviewing the goal because they were utterly unsure what they were looking for.

I dunno about that, pretty sure I hear criticism from mainstream media about him all the time... maybe you find this because a lot of journalists and analysts' opinions on Bergevin are nuanced, they know he's made very questionable decisions but they're aware he's made great moves as well, so to just call him out as being completely incompetent would be too simplistic and close-minded

oh me neither and besides I think the brown-nosing thing might apply more to the post-game scrums with the players, as a reporter if you ask too many uncomfortable questions all the time you might not get access to the locker room so easily afterwards lol (from what I've heard about it at least)
